Kaylyn Kyle Soccer Academy

As you may have heard Kaylyn Kyle is bringing her soccer academy back to Saskatchewan this October.

Following the success and great feedback from last years sessions in Saskatoon and Regina, this years academy has expanded by four cities as we endeavour to make it bigger and better than last year, with jerseys for each player by Under Armour, gift bags for each participant, and prize draws at the end of camp put together by our amazing sponsors.

As part of registration, each players name will go into a draw to win an autographed Orlando Pride jersey signed by the entire Orlando Pride Team. The draw for this jersey will take place at the end of October following the end of camps and the jersey will be given to one lucky winner who attended The Academy

The Saskatoon Camp has been moved from Thanksgiving weekend, and is now an evening event on Thursday October 13th. This has worked out great, as it is now $99 and allows those youth players that could not make it over the long weekend an opportunity to attend. The schedule is as follows:

5:30-6pm Registration for all age groups
6-7:30pm Training for all age groups
7:30pm onwards- Meet and Greet, Autographs and Speaking Engagement in the Pleasureway Lounge at the Sasktel Sports Center

All players will train within their age group during the training session. The camp is open to both male and female players from 8-16 years of age, of all levels and abilities.

As the weekend has been moved from a weekend event, and in order to ensure that Kaylyn can spend time with each player, spaces for the evening are limited.

All registration details, schedules, and any additional information can be found at http://kaylynkylesoccer.com. If players wish to register, the process can be completed online under “The Academy” tab.

YAS coaches are continuously innovating and adjusting the YAS summer basketball camps skills-development program in order to maintain YAS’s standing as a sports-school leader. Each year, top teacher-coaches from universities, colleges and secondary schools are surveyed in order to determine the skills that they regard as current top priority and in need of emphasis among young developing players.

That input from college professionals and teacher-coaches is then incorporated into YAS summer basketball camps.

12,904 players from 273 communities have graduated from YAS’s award-winning summer basketball camps since YAS was founded in 1975. Each YAS graduate returned home armed with the skills and confidence needed to excel in basketball and other sports, and most importantly to take leadership roles at school and to make positive contributions to their overall communities.

Imagine Culture Photo Contest

This year’s theme: Cultures within us and around us.

Snap a photo that explores the cultural traditions in your family, school, or community. Tell us your image’s story in a short caption (200 words max). Think about your favourite food, a treasured object, a family photo album, buildings in your neighbourhood, local festivals, or even just look in the mirror – what stories of cultural heritage are told by these people, places and things?

Think about the following:
– How do we express culture in our daily lives here in Canada?
– Have you shared in someone else’s culture or traditions? Tell us about that experience.
– Is there an immigration story in your family, amongst your friends, or in your community that you can share?
– Canada has been a place where different cultures have come together for hundreds of years. Is there a historical cultural moment you can share?
– Why should we try to learn about cultures different than our own? How can it help us fight racism and discrimination? Is there an example you can share from your community?

What do we accept?
– Original photography accompanied by a 200-word caption (max.) in English or French
– For elementary students (Kindergarten to Grade 6), we accept poster or photo submissions.

What’s the deadline?
Contest entries will be accepted online from December 3, 2015 at 12:00:01 AM (ET) to March 31, 2016 at 11:59:59 PM (Pacific Time).
