Overview
On Saturday, June 14th, 2025 the VVCA will be celebrating 40 years of being a community association by hosting a neighbourhood party in President Murray park.
We are planning a day-long event for all to enjoy and are looking for local artists, builders, writers, musicians, storytellers, historians and dancers who would like to share their talents during that day. If you have a talent, please let us know if you would like to be part of the celebrations!
We are also looking for businesses that would like to help to sponsor the event. Sponsors would be given space for signage and business promotion, as well as receive recognition by the event emcee. Please support your community and make this an unforgettable day in the park!
And, more than anything, we need some smiling volunteers for the day! If you can help out for some or all of the day, let us know. Let’s build our community by working together!

LIVE MUSIC — Main Stage, northeast corner of the park. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music from the Brunskill Jazz Band, Sons of Django, Jazzkatoon, and Wild Prairie.
• Sons of Django — 5 piece band performing Gypsy Jazz music.
• Jazzkatoon — jazz trio just arrived from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
• Wild Prairie — locals singers, Patty and Wendy, sing prairie tunes with a beautiful sisterly harmony.
ARTS — all around the park
• Rock Painting will happen all day, “Leave your Mark in the Park”!
• Art works by local artist will be displayed and for sale.
• Hopscotch on the Street will be available for viewing and playing!
• Face painting all day
CULTURAL DANCING — Main Stage, northeast corner of the park. Bring a lawn chair or dance along with the Saskatoon International Folkdance Club.
PHOTO BOOTH — Southeast corner of the park. 12pm to 3pm. By Armed with Harmony.
HISTORICAL WALKS & TALKS — South centre of the park.
• Local History Room from Saskatoon Public Library will have an information table.
• Jeff O’Brien , City of Saskatoon Archivist, will do a presentation on history of Saskatoon, highlighting Varsity View.
• Dianne Wilson, Saskatoon Historian, will do a brief presentation on the area followed by a Walking Tour of architecture in the area.
INTERACTIVE GAMES — West side of the park. Large games of a creative, interactive nature will be played in the open fields and among the trees. A Super soccer game will be scheduled and Pickle Ball Golf will be ongoing!
CIRCUS ARTS — West side of the park. SOL students will demonstrate Circus Arts, giving the audience a chance to participate.
FAIRY GARDEN — Centre of the park. Under the trees of the park you will find a variety of Fairy Gardens. Bring your own fairies and lay amongst the Enchanted Forest!
BOOKS ON WHEELS — two wagons will roll around the park throughout the day sharing books donated to our community on behalf of McNally Robinson, Westgate Books and Turning the Tide. Take a book, leave a book… maybe.
BIKE VALET & TUNE UPS — Northwest corner of the park on Aird Street. Park your bike safely with our Bike Valet! And stop in for a complimentary bike tune-up while there! Courtesy of Saskatoon Cycles.
POPCORN & COTTON CANDY — Colony Street. Being sold all day!
FOOD — Colony Street. Getting hungry while you stroll the park and celebrate your neighbourhood? The Varsity View Community Association will be selling some burgers and hotdogs to keep you satisfied! Water and drinks will also be available.
RAFFLES — Colony Street. check the info table to find the raffles and buy a ticket or two to win some fabulous prizes donated by our generous supporters! Prizes include art work, memberships and gift cards.
Good to know
Check in at the VVCA table when you arrive. We will have a schedule of events for the day, a map of the park and will be able to answer any of your questions. Entertainment and activities are all free and family friendly. And, we will have information about VVCA too, just in case you were wondering.
Saskatoon Cycles will be providing a bike valet for the event. Feel free to bike to the park and know that your bike will be safely and securely stored!
Bring lawn chairs to enjoy the shows!
We will have a water bottle refill station available. Stay hydrated!
