Doors Open Saskatoon – June 2015

THE OLD IS NEW
Sunday, June 7, 2015; Noon – 5PM

Peek behind doors of Saskatoon’s most interesting buildings!

Doors Open Saskatoon is part of an international tradition that began in Scotland in 1990. This one-day event started in Saskatoon in 2005, and offers a chance to peek behind the doors of approximately 20 of Saskatoon’s most interesting buildings. Many buildings provide guided tours, special exhibits, displays, or performances. Although appreciation of our built heritage is an important outcome of the event, the buildings chosen represent interesting examples of both historical and contemporary architecture in Saskatoon. This year’s event is proudly supported by the Saskatoon Heritage Society, City of Saskatoon, Tourism Saskatoon, Meewasin, and the Saskatchewan Association of Architects.

This event only takes place every second year, and is one of the few city-wide events that encourages, supports, and engages the people of Saskatoon in the appreciation and valuation of the diverse built cultural history that the city has to offer. The free event is accessible to all, since Saskatoon Transit is also offering free bus service all day on Sunday, June 7. Pick up your button at select locations starting on May 11:
• City Hall (222 3rd Avenue North)
• Meewasin (402 3rd Avenue South)
• Saskatoon Transit (23rd Street Bust Mall)
• Tourism Saskatoon (#101 – 202 4th Avenue North)
