Bike To Work YXE

You are invited to participate in Bike To Work YXE: May 15 – 19, 2017

Saskatoon Cycles is pleased to present Saskatoon’s fifth annual Bike To Work Day (BTWD) on Wednesday, May 17th. This year, BTWD will take place as part of Bike to Work YXE: May 15 – 19, a weeklong celebration of bicycle commuting and bicycles in Saskatoon!

About Bike To Work YXE: May 15 – 19

The mission of Bike To Work YXE is to attract new cyclists to commuting while celebrating the efforts of those that already use their bikes to get to and from work.

For 2017, we hope to expand to have one Commuter Station open each morning throughout the week of May 15 – 19, as well as a number of community-organized cycling events such as workshops, slow rolls, and group rides.

The main celebration event will be Bike to Work Day, taking place on Wednesday, May 17th; we aim to have a network of Commuter Stations in locations around the city from 7 – 9AM. Local businesses and organizations in Saskatoon are invited to participate in Bike to Work YXE by hosting a Commuter Station – a place for commuters to stop for grab-and-go refreshments, information, and a little fun on their way to work – on May 17th or on another day during the week of May 15 – 19.

Benefits of Cycling to Work

Cycling is a healthy, convenient, low-cost and socially responsible form of transportation that improves our community by decreasing traffic congestion and reducing air pollution. We hope this event inspires more people to use their bicycles for regular, active transportation and experience the benefits of increased mental and physical health upon arriving at work.

Host a Commuter Station and/or Sponsor Bike to Work YXE: May 15 – 19

If your business or organization is interested in hosting a Commuter Station, please read through the details on our website (biketoworksaskatoon.com) and submit a Commuter Station Request Form by Friday, April 28th. Please note that filling out a form implies agreement to adhere to the commitments and responsibilities as outlined in the Station Manager’s Guide on the Bike to Work YXE website. If you would like to support a station or the event with a donation of some kind, please be in touch using the contact information below.

If you have any questions, please email biketoworkyxe@saskatooncycles.org.
