An in-depth look at how the owners of Howland’s Honey near Canora, SK go about running a buzzing bee business. Sarah Wood, PhD Student in the College of Veterinary Medicine, will talk about the importance of bees to the environment.

The Battle for the Soul of Curling

Film Night at Grace Westminster

The Yorkton Film Festival and Grace Westminster United Church are hosting a film night Monday October 3 at 7:30 pm at the church (505-10th Street East, Saskatoon)

The evening will include a screening of the award-winning Saskatchewan production, Sticks and Stones: The Battle for the Soul of Curling, and a presentation by Vera Pezer, four time Canadian women’s curling champion. The film, featuring appearances by Russ Howard, Jennifer Jones, Ed Werenich and Warren Hansen, explores the controversies and personalities behind the transformation of curling from a weekend pastime into an Olympic Medal sport.

The event is free and open to the public.
