Older Adult Awareness Day

World Older Adult Abuse Awareness Day [WOAAD] Workshop 2018
Hosted by the Saskatoon Council on Aging

Older adults are frequently the target of frauds and scams. Financial abuse is the most common type of elder abuse.

Topics include:
Frauds and scams: Saskatoon Police Service will speak on various types of scams such as door to door, technology, credit cards, mail, phone and how to protect against these threats.
Financial Management: Conexus, Investors Group and Cheryl Kloppenburg will speak on preventing financial abuse and protecting independence. Topics include such as reverse mortgages, estate planning, power of attorney, joint accounts et cetera

Presentations followed by a wellness break and general discussion.
