New this year: For those who are familiar with our parent/baby music classes (Parenting With Music + Suzuki Early Childhood), we have now combined the elements of these classes into one curriculum under the “Parenting With Music (PWM)” title. Kids of Note concert

Kids of Note, a non-profit organization, is an integrated choir that serves Saskatoon children aged 7 and up, with and without disabilities, who love to sing. Saskatoon Youth Music Theatre Summer Camp

Saskatoon Youth Music Theatre Summer Camp is currently accepting registrations.

There are three levels:
Overture for ages 7 & 8
Act I & II for ages 9 – 12
Entracte for ages 13 – 18

The camp will be held July 4 – 15, 2016 with sessions for all participants from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at La Danse School of Dance Arts. 14-318, 105th Street, in Sutherland.

SYMT is a two week day camp that involves students in singing, drama, and dancing. This year’s feature production is the musical revue History in Harmony – celebrating 20 years! All students will participate in the production, which will be presented on stage on the final evening of the camp. An exciting opportunity for students of all levels of experience!

learn the theory that makes music great! movement, games, crafts will be used to explore
different parts of music. some previous music experience is helpful, but not necessary

Rudiments in Music Theory Camp

beginner to Intermediate Theory making music theory fun through games and crafts.

Mad Hatter Tea & Talent Show

Enjoy afternoon refreshments and great musical performances in the lovely loft of the Albert Community Centre. The talented young musicians of the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra will be performing individually or in duets and the Saskatoon Strings will showcase the best young string players in town! There will be raffle items, fancy desserts and a barista making special coffees and teas. Tickets to use for the raffle draws and special beverages are only $2 each (special beverages will be two tickets).

The Mad Hatter Tea & Talent Show is Saturday, March 19 from 2-4 p.m. at the Albert Community Centre. Tickets are only $40 adults/$20 children 12 & under.

Girls Rock Camp: All Grown Up!

Girls Rock Saskatoon is pleased to announce our first-ever Girls Rock Camp: All Grown Up! If you’re a grown-up who’s always wanted to learn an instrument and be in a band, this is the weekend for you. Girls Rock Camp: All Grown Up is a fundraiser in support of our kids’ camps taking place in July, 2016.

Applications will be available here starting March 6 and accepted until March 10.

Who: any woman, trans, two-spirit, or gender-non-conforming adult aged 19 and up who wants to learn an instrument and collaborate with a band.

What: a weekend-long mini-camp where participants will receive lessons in drums, guitar, bass, or keys, form a band, write a song, and perform for their fans! Registration fees are $275, and registration for the event takes place from March 6-10 at www.girlsrocksaskatoon.ca. If you’d like to participate but the registration fees will present a barrier for you, please let us know when you register. No previous musical experience is required to participate! All instruments and supplies will be provided.

Where: Queen’s House of Retreats, 601 Taylor St W, Saskatoon, SK. This is an accessible facility. The Showcase Concert will take place at Amigos Cantina.

When: April 22nd-24th, 2016.
The daily schedule is as follows:
Friday, April 22nd from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm with an optional social to follow
Sunday, April 24th from 11:00 – 4:00. The Showcase will take place April 24th at 8:30 pm.

Meals will be provided during the weekend. Participation in the full weekend is essential, so please keep your schedule clear!
