Drop off your spring cleaning junk in the big bins. And/or volunteer to drive the neighbourhood alleys and do some cleaning and hauling.
Gloves provided. Volunteers with or without trucks are welcome.
We are launching registration for the outdoor soccer season. This year we will offer Under 5 and Under 7 leagues in VVCA.
Registration will close on March 14. Teams need to be in by March 21.
We are also looking for coaches. The number of coaches will depend on the number of players registered.
Cost is $65 per player.
SEASON LENGTH: May 2nd to June 28th

UNDER-5 (born 2017 only) – CO-ED
• 3 vs. 3 format; no goaltenders
• 1 regular game per week (day to be decided)

• 4 vs. 4 format, includes goalkeeper

Corridor plans are a framework for future development to transform major streets, or “corridors” near the future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes into places for people. The College Corridor Plan covers the area located along College Drive and Preston Avenue, beside the University of Saskatchewan lands. In response to the input received from the community in early November, the project team has developed a few potential scenarios for distributing density in the study area. The goal of this survey is to build a single, refined option based on community input on the different potential scenarios presented here:

Survey results are anonymous and no identifying information will be included in our reports, unless you are completing the survey on behalf of an organization and choose to provide your organization’s name in the “Tell us about yourself” section.
The next meeting on College Corridor Land Uses will be November 24th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., via Microsoft Teams. The link will be available on the City website 48 hours prior to the meeting.
This meeting will focus on:
– Results from the land use meetings and land use survey;
– Draft land use map options;
– Considerations and refinement of land use map options;
The session will be a ‘Town Hall’ format with presentations followed by a moderated Question & Answer period. No RSVP is necessary to attend.

Unfortunately, VVCA has decided to not offer a fall 2021 soccer season in order to be fully prepared for a strong spring 2022 season.
As we prepared for the fall season, we discovered that we did not have enough time to integrate with the Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. RAMP registration system to make it easy for parents and players to register. We plan to be fully integrated with RAMP to offer a seamless registration process for the Spring 2022 season. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Saskatoon Minor Basketball Association are preparing for the upcoming season with a soft opening through the summer to get an early start and to generate interest and awareness. Our registration website will be opening on July 12 and will continue into the fall.
The Theatre in the Park schedule has been approved by the city: Sum Theatre will be performing in Grosvenor Park on Monday, July 12th! We will do 2 performances – 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Theatre in the Park is an original play offered free of charge in neighbourhood parks around Saskatchewan each July. Created in response to a current issue, it’s a fun and thought-provoking performance for people of all ages. Catchy original music and colourful sets, props and costumes bring our stories to life.
This year’s offering is a family friendly rock opera about two sides of the same river. Based on a story by Yvette Nolan, The Other Side of the River was devised by the Sum Theatre ensemble with original music composition by Amanda Trapp. Created in response to Indigenous Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter and the international movement towards racial equity and anti-racism, The Other Side of the River transports the audience on a joyful journey to a place they never expected to be.
The remaining phase of the Clarence Avenue Water Main Replacement Project (Phase 4) is anticipated to begin in the week of April 19th, 2021 and will take approximately 3 months to complete barring weather delays and unforeseen circumstances.

Have your say in the future of the University Sector Plan
The University of Saskatchewan has nearly 1,000 acres of endowment land located within five kilometers of downtown Saskatoon. These important lands provide critical resources that strategically support the university’s teaching, learning and research mission.
In 2008 a land-use task force was formed, bringing together the University of Saskatchewan, the City of Saskatoon, Meewasin Valley Authority and the Province of Saskatchewan, to create ‘Vision 2057.’‘Vision 2057’, in alignment with the City of Saskatoon’s growth plan and strategic infill initiatives, identifies university endowment lands that are suitable for commercial and residential development opportunities, along with the creation of multi-use community facilities, parks and open spaces, and also preserves abundant space for learning and research activities.
Recognizing the importance of developing these lands in a sustainable way that benefits everyone in Saskatoon, the City and University entered a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a Sector Plan for the area. Developing the Plan involved consultation with community partners and stakeholders, and it provides the framework within which the area will be planned and developed.
The result of this partnership and outreach, the University Sector Plan, is a shared vision of land use and development that will have a positive impact for the city, its residents and the University community.
